Who will be taking care of my pet while I’m away?

Our knowledgeable and caring kennel staff will be in direct contact with your pet while they are in our care.  Each of our kennel technicians is Pet CPR Certified and proficient in dog behavior and canine body language, calming signals, as well as signs and symptoms of stress and pain.  Rest assured that each one of our staff members works in this environment because of their genuine love of animals.  Your pet will be treated like one of our own.

What do I need to bring for my dog’s daycare or boarding stay?

At Broadway Animal Hospital, we pride ourselves on being a full service daycare and boarding facility.  We provide our guests with Science Diet Sensitive Stomach dry food, bowls, beds and blankets all included in the price of boarding and daycare.  If your pet has a special diet due to allergies, or you prefer that we feed your regular food, please bring it with them and we will happily accommodate.  We can also manage special diets that may require refrigeration, freezing, supplements or medications (medications must be brought in their original, vet prescribed packaging with current dosing instructions).  Feel free to bring in anything you think may make your pet’s stay with us more comfortable, but know that we have many of our own supplies.

Do I need a reservation for daycare or boarding?

Reservations for boarding are required. In addition, we may ask for a non-refundable boarding deposit based upon the length of your pet's stay.  During major holidays and summer months, we recommend making reservations at least 3 months in advance to ensure a space for your pet.  Any dogs that are recovering from injuries or are not comfortable around groups of dogs will be taken out alone. For "out alone" guests, we ask that you call to speak with a kennel manager to discuss the stay prior to leaving your pet with us. Please call us 303-499-5505 to set up a daycare or boarding reservation, or to speak with a kennel manager.

Does my dog need a "trial" visit before boarding?

Before leaving your dog with us overnight, we highly recommend that your bring him/her in for at least a few hours to participate in our daycare program. Your pet will be able to get a feel for the place and our staff, and also learn the routine of going in and out of the building. This visit also allows our team to learn your dog's individual personality, and find the perfect playgroup for him/her. For your convenience, we offer this visit for 1/2 off our normal daycare rate.

What do you consider your peak times and holidays?

At Broadway, our peak times and Holidays tend to fall in line with federal and local school holidays.  Daycare and boarding may be limited around and during the following times so we do recommend you make your reservations early:

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Presidents Day weekend
  • Spring break for CU (usually the 2nd Friday in March to the 1st Monday in April)
  • Easter
  • Memorial Day weekend
  • 4th of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
  • New Years

PLEASE NOTE: BAH is closed the following 6 holidays: New Years Day, Memorial day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.  Please note that our experienced kennel staff will continue their daily routine of providing your pet TLC during these days. However, our front desk staff will not be here to answer our phones on these holidays. On these holidays, our kennel staff will open the facility from 6-7pm for pick-ups only. Please make prior arrangements with the front desk staff for pick-ups on holidays.

Please call to schedule a daycare or boarding reservation to ensure your pet is able to stay with us.

What will you do if there is an emergency or an accident while my dog or cat is in your care?

We do our best to keep your pets happy and healthy while in our care, but similar to children in a daycare facility, accidents and illnesses can happen.  Our daycare and boarding facility is housed in an AAHA-accredited animal hospital, and we are able to immediately transfer your pet to our hospital to be seen by our caring and knowledgeable medical staff.  Your pet will be looked over and assessed before we call to ask which treatment options you would like us to pursue.  The medical treatment of your dog or cat will always be up to your discretion unless it is deemed a life threatening emergency or transmissible to the other guests in our care.

Who will my dog be playing with?

Your dog will go out in playgroups of 10 dogs or less with dogs of similar size, temperament, age and play styles as well as with a staff member to monitor.  We don’t mix large dogs with small dogs, or old dogs with the puppies.  Each dog is evaluated the day they arrive. Some of our regular dogs prefer a crazy group during the beginning of the week and a calmer one towards the end, and we can accommodate that.  We want to make sure each dog in our care enjoys their time outside to the fullest; therefore we are always monitoring the groups to be sure everyone is having a good time.

Are there any breeds or types of dogs you won’t allow into daycare?

We don’t discriminate a dog based on breed or past “performance” at another daycare or boarding facility.  Not all dogs do well in a daycare environment and we do our best to accommodate as many dog personalities as possible as safely as possible.  That said, if your dog is human aggressive or severely dog reactive, we may not be able to take them.  Please call and speak with our Kennel Manager or a kennel staff member to discuss your pet’s needs.

Can I come see your facility?

Definitely, and we encourage it!  Please note, the busiest times for our kennel staff are first thing in the morning and in the late afternoons and evenings when our feline and canine clients are going home.  We may not be able to spare a staff member to give you a tour during high peak times.  In order to ensure you get a chance to see our facility, please call the front desk to schedule a tour.  Please keep in mind that the best hours for us are Monday- Friday, 9:30am-4:30pm.
